IN A4 HARDBACK FORMAT IN 2022:

The 101-strong BR Hymek Class 35s lasted until 1975 and remain extremely popular today with many enthusiasts. Built by the Beyer Peacock (Hymek) Consortium at its Gorton Works , they were arguably the most successful Type Three locomotives of the modernisation era. Designed by Ted Wiles and Peter Ashmore, who also had a hand in the Brush type fours and prototype Falcon, they produced a locomotive that soon found favour with maintenance staff and drivers alike. This A4 hardback book boasts more than 70 pages and is published on glossy paper, with both colour and black and white pictures. It pays tribute to this much-missed class in photographic form as well as its designers. Containing many previously unpublished photographs, the book is a one-off publication in the Western Chronicles series and stands alone as a fine tribute publication. Retailing at £29.99 with free post and packing, it is a lovingly crafted pictorial homage to a fine class and of the Western Region in its heyday.
