OUT NOW (Published July 2021):

D1047 Western Lord gets the Chronicle treatment in style with its blue livery and small yellow panels story allied to a very sticky situation and how it managed to run without a data panel or depot allocation sticker until the very end of its life. The locomotive was also given a three-day withdrawal reprieve in 1976. Then there is the story of how a GWR driver became a life peer and was taken from Wales to Paddington for his admission into the House of Lords, by, yes, none other than D1047 Western Lord! The whole intriguing saga is contained in this A5 hard back book along with the story of the tragic death of a young man at the hands of the locomotive. The book, which comes complete with dust jacket and glossy paper with more than 60 pages, some of which boast fascinating photographs from the archives, retails for the usual £16.99 and includes free P&P. It’s another must have for your collection and is scheduled to be released off works in January 2022. Time to save the pennies.
