D1030 Western Musketeer

D1030 Western Musketeer

£16.99

Another fascinating volume in the already acclaimed Western Chronicles series of books from hydraulic historian, author and researcher Adrian Curtis. This volume centres on D1030 Western Musketeer - the first of the class to wear a shade of blue but with small yellow warning panels, red buffer beams and small double arrow emblem. Swindon completely messed up and the absence of sanctioned drawings was among one of the reasons, but they also did the same with the Warship ‘guinea pig’. Much has been made of the early corporate livery being called ‘chromatic’ blue - while this term is incorrect, there is another term for the process used to paint the early small yellow panel locomotives and even some of those with full yellow ends. Add that to Swindon’s own, unique, working practices and health and safety concerns and the whole story of early blue is finally unveiled. At £14.99 plus P&P and with 64 pages including colour and black and white pictures and accompanied by new and unseen archive material, it is another must have publication in a series that is taking the hydraulic story to new and previously uncharted heights. £16.99 POST AND PACKAGING INCLUDED!
