Preserved D1013 Western Ranger gets the Chronicle treatment in this volume. bought by WLA member and businessman Richard Holdsworth in 1977, D1013 has been under the care of the Western Locomotive Association ever since. The locomotive is renowned for its feat of reaching Leeds on service train 1977 as well as joining D1023 on the final farewell railtour, the Western Tribute on February 26, 1977. She was also the last of the class to get red-backed name and numberplates and the only one to carry them in blue livery with full yellow ends. All this and much more is available in this volume which like the other Chronicle books is A5 in size with more than 60 pages on glossy paper, dust jacket and colour and black and white pictures inside. It retails for the ridiculously low price of £16.99 with FREE postage and package. It is another valuable edition to the series.
